This program led by an intellectual property attorney will start with a brief, general overview of intellectual property, what it is, and the reasons for protecting it.  Then you will learn about some of the big issues in digital IP:

  • Trademarks and branding in a digital environment
  • What to do if someone takes your domain name
  • The good and the bad about search engines and keywords
  • Digital content copyright issues, both online and offline
  • Software development and ownership
  • Licensing intellectual property, from the perspective of both licensor and licensee
  • Social media and fair use: protecting property and reputation
  • Trade secrets and confidential information
  • Cyber security and data breaches: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

Your business doesn’t have to be online, or even have a website, for you to be concerned about digital IP issues. This is for anyone who wants to understand the IP risks in an increasing digital business environment, and what to do about them.
