(Washington, DC) – On Friday, May 4, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser, as part of small business week, will recognize a total of 53 Fiscal Year 18 Great Streets small business grantees. This year’s grantees are receiving over $2.5 million to support the growth and creation of job opportunities in the District. Since 2015, the Bowser Administration has awarded over $14 million to 274 small businesses, and created over 1,000 jobs.
The Great Streets program aims to transform 13 designated retail priority areas by fostering small business development with new and existing businesses, stimulate job growth, and increase the District’s tax base to improve commercial vibrancy along the city’s corridors and surrounding neighborhoods.
