Great Streets

Great Streets is the District’s commercial revitalization initiative, led by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), designed to support existing small businesses, attract new businesses, increase the District’s tax base, create new job opportunities for District Residents, and transform emerging corridors into thriving and inviting neighborhood centers. This advisory committee was established by the DC Council through enactment of the “Kennedy Street, NW Economic Development and Small Business Revitalization Advisory Committee” The purpose of the council is to provide recommendations to the Mayor and Council regarding the needs of the community, parking and transportation, economic development opportunities.
